Salary: £15.50 – £16.50 per hour (DOE)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:30

We are currently working with a growing precision sheet metal and fabrication business based in the West Midlands, specialising in high-quality metal components, fabricated assemblies, and bespoke engineered products. The company operates a modern fabrication facility with full in-house capabilities including CNC machining, sheet metal cutting and forming, MIG welding, fabrication, and finishing processes. They supply a range of sectors including industrial, electrical, and general engineering, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery.

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Fabricator to join a skilled and growing workshop team. This is a hands-on role working in a busy fabrication environment, producing high-quality metal components and assemblies to engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components
  • Fabrication and assembly of metal products and structures
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Working with sheet metal components using a range of fabrication tools and machinery
  • Cutting, grinding, drilling, and preparing materials for welding
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure accuracy and finish standards are met
  • Supporting production targets and deadlines
  • Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a MIG Fabricator
  • Strong fabrication experience within a workshop environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • Experience using general workshop machinery and hand tools
  • High attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication or precision engineering environments
  • Previous work on bespoke or small-batch fabrication projects
  • Relevant fabrication or welding qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
