The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced 6G TIG Welder for a contract position with long-term potential. This role involves high-quality coded welding on pressure pipework and plate, working to strict quality and inspection standards in a stable manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking for consistent work with the option of a permanent role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coded welding on pipe and plate
- TIG, MIG, and Pulse MIG welding in 2G and 6G positions
- Welding stainless and carbon steel tubes (butt welds & fillets)
- Positional welding on pressure vessels, boilers, pressure parts, and superheater pipework
- Producing welds to pass X-ray, DPI, and MPI inspections
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant welding experience
- Confident and competent in 6G TIG welding
- Previous welding qualifications/coding preferred
- Ability to pass a weld test (X-ray tested)
- Experience with tube-to-tube butt welds
- Reliable, quality-driven, and safety-conscious
What’s On Offer
- £17.50 – £18.50 per hour depending on experience
- Enhanced overtime rates:
- Mon–Fri: Time + 1/3
- Saturday: Time + 1/2
- Sunday: Double time
Day shift pattern:
- Mon–Thurs: 7:54am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:54am – 1:30pm
Night shifts available after initial training
26 days’ holiday + bank holidays (once permanent)
