Join a High-Quality Manufacturing Team as a Skilled TIG Fabricator. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-driven TIG Fabricator to join a busy and growing manufacturing environment in Solihull. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in producing precision work, particularly with aluminium and stainless steel, within a supportive and quality-focused workshop. You’ll be working on high-specification components where accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out high-quality TIG welding and fabrication, primarily on aluminium and stainless steel.
  • Use a foot pedal TIG system to achieve precise weld control and consistent finishes.
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Set up and maintain fabrication jigs, fixtures, and welding equipment.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality standards and welding procedures.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong proven experience in TIG welding and fabrication, particularly aluminium.
  • Confident using a foot pedal for fine welding control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential: Previous experience as a TIG Fabricator (aluminium experience required).

Desirable: Fabrication or fitting background. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles. Welding/fabrication qualifications. BS 4872 welding certification. Abrasive wheels training (tungsten grinding).
