Hours: Monday-Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm (30-minute lunch) Friday: 7:30am - 1:00pm
We are working with a well-established manufacturing company who are looking to appoint a Technical Sales Engineer to join their Sales team. This is a key role focused on building strong customer relationships, responding to technical sales enquiries, and producing accurate, competitive quotations. You will provide both commercial and technical support to new and existing customers, working closely with internal departments to ensure a smooth process from enquiry through to order.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via tele, email, and occasional face-to-face meetings
- Understanding, managing, and interpreting customer technical requirements
- Producing layouts and costed solutions using CAD software (training can be provided)
- Preparing clear, detailed, and accurate quotations and tenders in a timely manner
- Following up quotations to secure profitable orders
- Providing pre-sales technical advice and product support to customers
- Maintaining a strong understanding of products and applications
- Ensuring orders are processed efficiently and that accurate information is passed to Design and Manufacturing teams
- Keeping customers informed of order progress and resolving any issues promptly
- Maintaining accurate records of enquiries, quotations, orders, and customer activity using Sage CRM
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
- Supporting the Contracts, Engineering, and Production teams as required
- Occasional customer and site visits
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (AutoCAD)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using Sage 200 and CRM systems (advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail
