This is a very exciting time to join a business who has positioned themselves as one of Midlands most dynamic accountancy firms.Using the most update cloud based accountancy software, Xero and Dext together with showcasing the best automation when it comes to their clients \’files.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a successful and friendly team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of year-end accounts preparation and management accounts across a diverse client base, ranging from sole traders to private limited companies.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate and timely year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and private limited companies, fully compliant with current accounting standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of FRS 105 & 102, including (a) disclosure requirements.
• Independently manage workload with minimal supervision; file completion and reporting directly to senior partners.
• Prepare detailed management accounts, including intercompany reconciliations within group structures.
• Process year-end journals within bookkeeping software and assist the in-house bookkeeping team with complex transactions as needed.
• Provide technical expertise and quality reviews of junior staff\’s work when required.
You will need to have
• Extensive accounting and finance experience within a practice environment.
• Professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE candidates with relevant experience may be considered.
• Proficiency with Xero (essential), Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, VT Transaction & Final Accounts, and TaxCalc preferred.
• Highly motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Technically minded, detail-oriented, and adept at problem-solving.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Comfortable taking sole charge of clients\’ year-end accounting requirements.
• Experience in training, managing, or overseeing junior staff a distinct advantage.
• Professional appearance and approach with a client-focused, commercially aware mindset.
