Robotic Welder / Skilled Welder
Location: Redditch
Pay: £17.50 per hour during probation, increasing to £18.00 per hour + £50.06 weekly shift allowance
Probation: 3 months
Shifts: Weekly rotating shifts – 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–12:00am
We are seeking a skilled Robotic Welder / Skilled Welder to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Redditch.
This is not a conventional welding role. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for setting up and operating a robotic welding arm, performing welding tasks on a variety of forging dies and tooling.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating a robotic welding arm
- Applying multiple layers of weld to various forging dies
- Removing slag and debris from welded surfaces
- Preparing and cleaning surfaces between weld layersCompleting the welding process until the impression within the block is fully restored
- Repairing different types of tooling
- Performing MIG, TIG and ARC welding where required
- Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
- Maintaining safe and accurate work practises within a manufacturing environment
Person Specification
We welcome applications from candidates who:
- Have previous welding experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Possess MIG and/or TIG welding experience – highly desirable
- Have ARC welding experience (advantageous)
- Have experience operating robotic welding equipment (beneficial but not essential)
- Understand welding processes and preparation thoroughly
- Can work accurately and follow instructions diligently
- Are eager to learn robotic welding techniques
Candidates with more basic welding experience will also be considered if they demonstrate the right aptitude and willingness to develop.
Pay & Hours
- Starting rate: £17.50 per hour during the 3-month probation period
- Post-probation: £18.00 per hour
- Additional allowance: £50.06 weekly shift allowance
The role operates on weekly alternating shifts:
- Week 1: 6:00am–2:00pm
- Week 2: 2:00pm–12:00am
Applicants must be able to work both shifts on a rotating basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced welder looking to advance their skills in robotic welding or for candidates already experienced in automated welding seeking a long-term role.
