Working Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:00
  • Overtime: Available after 16:30 weekdays & Saturday mornings (optional)

About the Role

We are working with a highly respected specialist manufacturer based in Redditch who are looking to recruit a Precision Rolling & Slitting Operator to join their growing production team. You will be working with tight-tolerance metal products, operating specialist machinery including rolling mills, bonding equipment, and slitting machines. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate rolling mills and bonding machines to precise tolerances
  • Operate slitting / shearing machines to produce accurate metal strips
  • Measure, calculate, and record strip lengths and quantities (Excel & basic arithmetic required)
  • Support wider production operations when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
  • Follow strict health & safety procedures at all times

About You

Essential

  • Calm, patient, and highly detail-oriented approach
  • Strong mechanical awareness (assessed at interview stage)
  • Competent using Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
  • Willingness to learn multiple machines and processes
  • Reliable with a strong commitment to long-term employment (full training period: 6–12 months)

Desirable

  • Previous experience in metal manufacturing, rolling, or slitting
  • Forklift licence or full UK driving licence
  • Engineering apprenticeship or relevant mechanical qualification
