Location: Poole

Hours: Full-time, 39 hours Monday to Thursday 7:30 till 4:30 and Fridays 7:30 to 12:00

Pay: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a precision engineering environment, working on high-specification components across various industries. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy and takes pride in their inspection skills. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our inspection department, using both manual measuring tools and advanced CMM equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform first‑off, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
  • Use manual measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
  • Operate Aberlink CMM machines for dimensional inspection and reporting.
  • Accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records.
  • Identify and report non‑conformances, supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficient in the use of manual inspection tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with Aberlink CMMs (programming experience desirable).
  • Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing and engineering drawings.
  • Good communication skills and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward quality standards.
