We’re currently seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a skilled precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC Star Sliding Head machines to produce high-quality components used in critical applications.
What you’ll be doing:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC Sliding Head (Star machines with Fanuc controls)
- Producing high-integrity components to tight tolerances
- Working from technical drawings, ensuring quality and accuracy throughout
- Conducting first-off and in-process inspections using appropriate measuring equipment
- Performing routine machine maintenance and keeping the work area clean and safe
- Collaborating with the production and quality teams to meet deadlines and optimise output
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator role (ideally in a high-integrity or precision environment)
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc)
- Proven experience working on Sliding head machines (Star machines)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Good understanding of inspection and measurement techniques
- Positive attitude, good problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
