About the Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering business based in Kings Langley, specialising in high-quality machined components for industries including aerospace, automotive, and general engineering. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their dedicated team.
The Role
As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key part in maintaining the company’s commitment to exceptional quality and precision. You’ll be responsible for inspecting machined components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications, and supporting the wider quality assurance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined parts.
- Operate CMM machines using PC-DMIS software.
- Complete FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) in line with AS9102 and customer requirements.
- Use a wide range of inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and shadowgraphs.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T tolerances.
- Accurately record and maintain inspection data, NCRs, and related quality documentation.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement and compliance with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CMM inspection and PC-DMIS (essential).
- Strong knowledge of FAIRs and associated documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Confident interpreting detailed engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Team-oriented with good communication and problem-solving skills.
Package & Benefits
- Hours: 40 hours per week (8:00am – 4:00pm, flexible once settled)
- Overtime: Paid at 1.5x rate
- Holidays: 25 days + statutory holidays (increasing by 1 day per year up to 28 days)
- Pension: Standard government pension scheme
