An exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector to join a highly advanced manufacturing environment producing composite and metallic components for aerospace, automotive, defence and space. The role will focus on CMM inspection using PC-DMIS, alongside dimensional and visual inspection, quality documentation and continuous improvement. CMM programming experience is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out CMM, dimensional and visual inspections of composite and metallic components.
- Operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS.
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process components and finished products.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and CAD models.
- Produce FAIR packs, C of C documentation and inspection reports.
- Support MRB, non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis.
- Work with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Identify opportunities for process and quality improvements.
- Maintain accurate quality records and support compliance with quality standards.
About You
- Level 3 NVQ in Engineering/Manufacturing or equivalent industrial experience.
- 2-3+ years' quality inspection experience within manufacturing.
- PC-DMIS experience is essential.
- CMM programming experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Confident reading technical drawings and working with CAD models.
- Experience with inspection equipment such as callipers and micrometres.
- Knowledge of composites and/or advanced manufacturing is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive, proactive approach with good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work shifts/overtime when required.
