Our client is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead and manage Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across the business. This is very much a hands-on role within a fast-paced operational environment. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, maintaining management systems, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong culture of safety and quality.

Day to day duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities across the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S, environmental, and quality legislation and standards.
  • Maintain, develop, and improve QHSE management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for audits, inspections, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring actions are completed and tracked.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, producing reports and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Deliver QHSE training and toolbox talks to promote awareness and compliance across the workforce.
  • Monitor performance against QHSE KPIs, producing reports and recommendations for senior management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across all operational areas.
  • Work closely with management and operational teams to embed a proactive QHSE culture.

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience in a QHSE Manager or senior QHSE role within a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Additional qualifications in quality or environmental management are desirable.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous.
  • Strong working knowledge of health & safety legislation, quality standards, and environmental management systems.
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO standards).
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, accident investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
