We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner Setter to join our client\’s precision engineering team in Tewkesbury. This is a permanent days-based role working with Mazatrol and Fanuc-controlled lathes, producing high-quality, technically demanding components. You will be responsible for setting, proving out, and running machines while ensuring tight tolerances and high standards of quality are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate multi-axis CNC turning machines using Mazatrol (Smooth) and/or Fanuc controls.
- Produce precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Interpret detailed technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and quality across all machining tasks.
- Organize tooling, materials, and setups in line with production demands.
- Communicate effectively with production engineers and management to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Adhere to all health and safety and quality assurance protocols.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience setting and operating CNC turning machines.
- Strong knowledge of Mazatrol (Smooth) and/or Fanuc controls.
- Background in precision engineering – aerospace or similar industry preferred.
- Competent in using inspection tools such as micrometers, gauges, and comparators.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in high-quality output.
- Team-focused with good communication skills.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
