A highly advanced precision CNC manufacturing company based in Hertfordshire is seeking a hardworking, accurate, and experienced CNC Turner to join their well-established team. The company supports a wide range of sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, and Robotics, operating at an F1-level standard within a clean, modern, and highly efficient engineering environment equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machine tools.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure CNC turning machines run efficiently with minimal downtime while producing high-precision components to exact drawing specifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting machines and defining datums
- Proving out new jobs
- Editing and adjusting machine offsets
- Carrying out first-off inspection checks
- Maintaining strict machining tolerances
- Interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Working closely with inspectors to ensure all tolerances are met
- Managing material identification and control
- Planning workloads effectively with Team Leaders
Ideal candidates should have experience in most of the following areas:
- Strong understanding of CNC lathe setting and operating
- Ability to interpret and work confidently from engineering drawings
