Are you an experienced Robotics Engineer looking for your next challenge? We are a well‑established automation and control systems specialist designing, building and installing bespoke factory automation solutions for customers across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, we're looking for an experienced Robotics Engineer to join our expanding team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge automation projects across a range of industries, primarily within food & beverage manufacturing and plastic container handling. Every project is different, giving you the chance to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver world‑class automation solutions.

This role is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, with regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada. Please note: Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Cheltenham.

The Role

Working alongside a highly experienced team of design and controls engineers, you'll play a key role in delivering complete robotic and turnkey automation solutions from concept through to installation and commissioning. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be trusted to manage projects independently while collaborating closely with colleagues and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program and integrate industrial robotic systems
  • Develop bespoke robotic automation solutions
  • Manage projects from concept through design, build, installation and customer handover
  • Install and commission robotic systems on customer sites
  • Service, fault‑find and optimise existing automation systems
  • Work closely with electrical design and controls engineers
  • Provide technical support, mentoring and robotics expertise to colleagues
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards
  • Build strong customer relationships through excellent communication and technical support

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Proven industrial robotics experience
  • Programming and integration of industrial robots
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki, Nachi
  • Industrial control systems
  • Manufacturing and production environments
  • Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet)

Desirable Skills

  • PLC programming
  • HMI/Touchscreen programming
  • SCADA systems
  • Project Management
  • Experience working internationally

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 3 penalty points)
  • Fluent English
  • Valid British or EU Passport with unrestricted travel to the USA and Canada
  • No criminal convictions that would prevent overseas travel
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Applicants must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Cheltenham

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm (Flexibility is required when travelling and commissioning customer projects.)
