About the Role
In this role, you’ll partner with a portfolio of ambitious, owner‑managed businesses, providing strategic finance insight and advisory support. The businesses you’ll work with are serious about growth, and this is a chance to make a real impact. If you’re passionate about delivering commercial insight, driving decisions, and shaping business performance, this role could be perfect for you.
Responsibilities
- Working in accountancy practices (audit, business services, or outsourced finance teams).
- Exposure to owner‑managed businesses or SMEs is ideal.
- Experience acting as a trusted finance advisor, not just preparing accounts.
- Comfortable leading finance discussions with business owners or boards.
- Experience providing strategic insight to influence growth, cashflow, and investment decisions.
- Skilled in integrated forecasts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow).
- Able to stress‑test assumptions, scenario‑plan, and support funding decisions.
- Familiarity with WIP, contract‑driven accounting, or cashflow‑led planning is beneficial.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching junior staff.
- Comfortable overseeing work quality and delivery within a portfolio.
Qualifications
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA fully qualified.
- Comfortable with working at board level.
