I am working exclusively in partnership with a forward-thinking accountancy practice in Birmingham City Centre as they plan the next phase of their recruitment.
We are looking to speak with an aspiring Accounts Semi Senior with around 3–4 years' accountancy practice experience who wants more than simply another role processing accounts.
This is a team that is genuinely interested in doing things differently. They are looking for someone who can bring strong technical skills, fresh ideas and a willingness to improve the way things are done within practice.
The role
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will be involved across a varied portfolio of practice work, developing your technical knowledge while contributing to the continued growth and improvement of the business.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are excellent users of Excel and enjoy finding ways to make processes more efficient.

Whether you have developed your own spreadsheets, automated processes, created efficiencies or simply have a real passion for using technology to improve how accounting work is delivered, your technical ability could add significant value here.
What we're looking for
- Around 3–4 years' experience within an accountancy practice
- Experience working across accounts and general practice assignments
- Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- VBA / automation experience would be highly desirable
- Someone who enjoys improving processes and finding better ways of working
- A proactive, curious and commercially minded approach
- Ambition to develop your career within practice
- Someone who wants to contribute to a team rather than simply be another number
