Our client is a well-established subcontract precision engineering business with over 45 years of success. Due to continued growth and increased customer demand, they're looking to recruit a skilled CNC Miller Setter to join their experienced and supportive machining team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of precision components in a modern workshop, where quality is valued over volume and no two days are the same.

The Role

As a CNC Miller Setter, you'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing high-quality precision components in small batch sizes. You'll play an important role in maintaining quality standards while contributing to the smooth running of production. Full training will be provided on Hurco controls and OneCNC for candidates with strong CNC milling experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate Hurco CNC milling machines (full training provided where required).
  • Use OneCNC software when necessary to support production (training provided).
  • Manufacture precision components in batch sizes ranging from 1-100 pieces, with most work involving low-volume production.
  • Carry out in-process inspections using a variety of precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure components meet specification.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a skilled, close-knit team.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping throughout production.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience with Hurco controls or OneCNC is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary of £32,000 - £35,000, depending on experience.
  • Permanent, full-time days role.
  • Flexible start and finish times to support a healthy work-life balance.
  • Regular overtime available (typically 5-7 hours per week) paid at 1.33x.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension.
  • Training on Hurco controls and OneCNC software.
  • Long-term career stability with a successful and growing precision engineering company.
  • Friendly, supportive team environment where your skills and experience are genuinely valued.
