About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fabricator Welder with a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience to join our production team. This role suits someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, values safety, and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team. You will be responsible for taking projects from technical drawings through to finished assemblies, working with a wide range of materials and thicknesses in a modern, well-equipped facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and work accurately from technical drawings
- Fabricate using mild steel and stainless steel
- Confidently work with materials from 2mm sheet metal up to 30mm plate, with the majority of components laser-cut in-house
- Set up and operate press brakes, drills, saws, and various pneumatic and hand tools
- Welding & Finishing
- MIG Welding: Produce welds to a high structural and visual standard
- TIG Welding: Not essential but a strong advantage
- Quality Control: Ensure all fabrications and welds meet tight tolerances and project specifications before progressing
- Teamwork & Working Environment
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to meet production deadlines
- Follow all Health & Safety requirements, including correct use of PPE and LEV/extraction systems
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace, taking pride in the working environment
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a metal fabrication environment
- Counterbalance forklift experience essential (valid licence advantageous)
- Strong understanding of correct handling and preparation of different metals to prevent cross-contamination, particularly between carbon and stainless steel
