Step Up and Lead in a Fast-Paced Production Environment
We\\\’re looking for a proactive and experienced Zone Leader to oversee multiple production lines and Cell Leaders. This is a hands-on leadership role where you\\\’ll drive operational excellence, ensure food safety and product quality, and motivate teams to deliver results in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and support Cell Leaders and operatives across your zone. Assign tasks clearly and monitor team performance. Conduct reviews, investigations, and disciplinaries with HR support. Present quarterly profit improvement plans to senior management. - Operational Excellence
Ensure GMP, food safety, and health & safety standards are consistently achieved. Complete weekly food safety audits and maintain accurate documentation. Investigate root causes of machine breakdowns and liaise with engineering teams. Maintain absence levels below 3% and address operational issues quickly. - Continuous Improvement
Promote a culture of continuous improvement across your zone. Share best practices and contribute to new product launches. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve delays or equipment issues. - Key Performance Indicators
GMP score > 85%
OCE (Plan Attainment) > 95%
Accurate and timely paperwork and CCP checks
Minimized waste and product giveaway
Full compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards
Training & Development
\\u202FYou\\\’ll receive full training and must complete the following to be signed off as a fully competent Zone Leader:
- Food Safety Level 3
- Fire Safety & Fire Marshal
- GMP, Allergen & Organic Controls
- Brand Integrity & Traceability
- ASC/MSC Awareness
- Coaching & Mentoring
- Leadership & Values Programme
What We\’re Looking For
- Proven experience in food production (essential).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Fluent in English (spoken, written, reading) for documentation and compliance.
- A proactive, safety-first mindset with a focus on quality and improvement.
- Physically fit and comfortable in a fast-paced, chilled environment.
