The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting and growing sales across international markets, working closely with a global network of distributors and agents.

The role will involve a combination of technical sales, account management, business development and customer support, with the opportunity to travel internationally to meet customers, distributors and attend trade events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with international distributors and agents across key export markets.
  • Work with distributors to implement sales and marketing plans and achieve growth targets.
  • Provide high-level technical support, answering customer and distributor queries promptly and professionally.
  • Understand customer requirements and advise on suitable product specifications and solutions.
  • Support customers throughout the sales process, from initial enquiry through to order.
  • Visit customers and distributors internationally to develop relationships and convert opportunities into sales.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, training sessions and technical presentations both virtually and on-site.
  • Attend international trade shows, exhibitions and industry events to promote the product range and generate new opportunities.
  • Work closely with engineering, production and aftersales teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, manage the sales pipeline and provide sales forecasts and reports.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements to identify new opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager to develop strategies to increase market share.
  • Negotiate pricing and discounts in line with agreed commercial guidelines.
  • Provide cover for key team members during periods of absence.
  • Marketing Responsibilities
  • Supporting marketing campaigns, events and trade shows.
  • Updating website and social media content.
  • Coordinating brochures, newsletters and other marketing materials.
  • Supporting SEO, email marketing and digital advertising activity.
  • Carrying out market research to identify new sales opportunities and emerging trends.

About You

We're looking for someone who is technically minded, commercially driven and confident dealing with customers across international markets.

Ideally, you will have

  • An Engineering HND or equivalent qualification, or relevant technical experience.
  • Previous experience in technical sales, ideally within an engineering environment.
  • Experience selling technical products or solutions to customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to different audiences.
  • A commercially astute approach with the ability to manage a sales process from prospecting through to closing.
  • Experience working with international customers, distributors or agents would be advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • A proactive, positive can-do attitude.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
  • Experience with SAP Business One or Sage 50 would be beneficial but is not essential.
