Overview

Brake Press Setter / Operator (Amada) – Location: Tamworth. Pay Rate: £14.50 – £16.00 per hour (DOE). Hours: Full-Time, Permanent.

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Brake Press Setter / Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business in Tamworth. This is a permanent position offering excellent working hours, competitive pay, and long-term stability. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating Amada press brakes, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances while maintaining a right-first-time approach.

Responsibilities

  • Set and operate Amada press brake machines
  • Manufacture components from engineering drawings and route cards
  • Ensure all parts meet quality and tolerance requirements
  • Carry out self-inspection using verniers, height gauges, and measuring tools
  • Identify and resolve production issues efficiently
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Support continuous improvement and team objectives

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience with Amada press brakes (essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Confident using handheld inspection equipment
  • Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented attitude
