We are looking to recruit an organised, reliable and proactive Night Transport Office Administrator to join an established transport operation. Working as part of a busy transport office team, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of night-time transport operations, ensuring drivers are dispatched efficiently, paperwork is completed accurately and loads are tracked throughout their journeys. This is a hands-on administrative role that requires someone who can communicate confidently with drivers and colleagues, manage changing priorities and remain organised in a fast-paced working environment. You will be joining an existing team, working alongside three other office colleagues and a Team Leader, so you will have support and guidance rather than being expected to manage the operation alone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of night transport operations.
  • Coordinating and assisting with the dispatch of drivers.
  • Preparing, checking and processing transport documentation and paperwork.
  • Tracking and monitoring loads, ensuring deliveries and collections are progressing as expected.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
  • Communicating effectively with drivers, colleagues and other relevant contacts.
  • Responding to queries and helping resolve operational issues as they arise.
  • Providing general administrative support to the transport office.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of operations.

The Ideal Candidate

We are interested in hearing from candidates who have strong administrative and communication skills and enjoy working in a busy, operational environment. Previous experience within transport, logistics or distribution would be advantageous but is not essential. Equally, candidates with a solid administration background and the right attitude, organisational ability and willingness to learn will be considered.

You will ideally have:

  • Good administration and organisational skills.
  • Confident communication and people skills.
  • The ability to work accurately and manage competing priorities.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible and reliable approach to working nights.
  • Previous transport or logistics experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Working Hours

The current shift pattern is Thursday to Monday, working 12-hour shifts. The business is planning to move to a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern from January 2027, subject to final confirmation.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary of £31,000 – £34,000 per annum.
  • An established and supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to develop your experience within a busy transport operation.
  • A move to a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern planned for January 2027.

If you are organised, have good people skills and are looking for a night-based administration role within the transport industry, we would be keen to hear from you.
