We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Line Leader to join a dynamic chilled food production facility in Evesham. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with prior experience in production, food manufacturing, or supervisory roles who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading teams to consistently meet production, quality, and safety targets.

The Role

As a Production Line Leader, you will oversee and support a team of Production Operatives, including agency staff, ensuring the production line operates safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, organise and allocate tasks to team members to achieve daily production targets
  • Set up the production line and ensure smooth job completion with minimal disruption
  • Monitor production performance against targets and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Order raw materials and packaging to maintain stock levels
  • Ensure correct packaging is used and minimise unnecessary packaging waste
  • Accurately complete production and job sheets in a timely manner
  • Maintain performance boards, recording any missing information or reasons for discrepancies
  • Uphold quality standards and consistently meet service level expectations
  • Monitor and help reduce waste in line with company objectives
  • Conduct required Health & Safety checks and promptly report any issues
  • Report accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions without delay
  • Ensure the team adheres to all Health & Safety procedures and uses PPE correctly
  • Maintain a clean, organised and tidy production area
  • Identify and escalate recurring production issues to the Section Controller and Shift Manager
  • Support managers and supervisors with daily operational activities
  • Serve as a point of contact for team members, escalating concerns when appropriate
  • Deputise for colleagues or the immediate line manager when trained and competent
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the business

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in a Production, Manufacturing or Team Leader/Supervisory role is desirable
  • Experience in food production, particularly chilled environments, is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively delegate, motivate and brief a diverse team
  • Confident leading colleagues from varied backgrounds and cultures
  • Reliable, organised and self-motivated
  • Capable of working independently and using own initiative
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • Basic Food Hygiene and Manual Handling qualifications are beneficial
  • Flexible approach to working hours when required
