CNC Turner Programmer
Location: WD4 - Kings Langely
Salary: Β£40,000 to Β£50,000 per annum DOE
Hours: Days / 8am to 4pm / Monday to Friday

The Opportunity
WF Tech are currently working with an established precision CNC manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire, supplying highly technical components into sectors including aerospace, defence, motorsport and robotics.
The business operates from a highly advanced engineering facility, with a strong focus on precision, quality and technical excellence. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Machinist to their established engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner who enjoys working on complex, high-precision components and wants to work with modern CNC machinery and supporting technology.
The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to engineering drawings and required specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting and operating CNC turning machines
- Defining machine datums
- Proving out new jobs
- Editing machine offsets
- Carrying out first-off inspection checks
- Maintaining tight machining tolerances
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Working closely with inspection teams to ensure drawing requirements and tolerances are achieved
- Material identification and control
- Working with Team Leaders to plan and manage production efficiently
- Supporting the team in maintaining minimal machine downtime
- Ensuring a high standard of quality across all manufactured components
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have the majority of the following:
- Previous experience within a precision / subcontract CNC manufacturing environment
- Strong experience setting and operating CNC lathes
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience carrying out first-off inspection checks
- Excellent attention to detail
- A methodical and precise approach to machining
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- The ability to work effectively as part of an established engineering team
Technical Experience
Candidates should ideally have:
- Approximately 4 years' or more CNC machining experience
- Experience with offline programming
- Strong CNC setting and operating experience
- Experience with DMG MORI machinery would be advantageous
- Experience using CELOS controls would be advantageous
- Experience with HyperMILL ? Turning would be highly desirable
- Experience machining difficult materials such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
- A background producing complex components to tight tolerances
- Experience within motorsport, aerospace, defence or another high-precision engineering environment would be advantageous
