Overview
Job Title: Hose Assembler β Aerospace Industry
Location: Redditch
Salary: Β£15.52 per hour (first 3 months at 90% of rate)
Hours: 38 hours/week β Mon to Thu 7:00-15:45, Fri 7:00-12:00
Benefits: Pension, flexible benefits, 3Γ annual salary life assurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble aerospace components such as hoses, clamps, brackets, and ducting.
- Operate and maintain assembly equipment including spot welders, pneumatic riveters, bench formers, hand and pneumatic presses, cutting tools, crimping machines, and more.
- Follow engineering drawings, data cards, and standard work instructions to ensure high-quality assembly.
- Inspect own work using measurement tools such as micrometres, Vernier calipers, borescopes, and tensile testers.
- Perform pre- and post-assembly tasks including cutting, polishing, bagging, tagging, cleaning, and packing.
- Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and 5S activities.
- Take on additional responsibilities (for high-performing candidates) such as team leader support, training, or Lean initiative champion roles.
Qualifications
- Good understanding of basic maths and English.
- Previous experience with assembly equipment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Basic computer skills to access drawings and procedures.
- Proactive approach to safety, quality, and teamwork.
