Overview

Job Title: Hose Assembler – Aerospace Industry

Location: Redditch

Salary: Β£15.52 per hour (first 3 months at 90% of rate)

Hours: 38 hours/week β€” Mon to Thu 7:00-15:45, Fri 7:00-12:00

Benefits: Pension, flexible benefits, 3Γ— annual salary life assurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble aerospace components such as hoses, clamps, brackets, and ducting.
  • Operate and maintain assembly equipment including spot welders, pneumatic riveters, bench formers, hand and pneumatic presses, cutting tools, crimping machines, and more.
  • Follow engineering drawings, data cards, and standard work instructions to ensure high-quality assembly.
  • Inspect own work using measurement tools such as micrometres, Vernier calipers, borescopes, and tensile testers.
  • Perform pre- and post-assembly tasks including cutting, polishing, bagging, tagging, cleaning, and packing.
  • Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and 5S activities.
  • Take on additional responsibilities (for high-performing candidates) such as team leader support, training, or Lean initiative champion roles.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of basic maths and English.
  • Previous experience with assembly equipment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Basic computer skills to access drawings and procedures.
  • Proactive approach to safety, quality, and teamwork.
