HGV Driver Trainer/Assessor – Severnside

Great opportunity to utilise your driving skills and knowledge. We are looking for a C+E driver trainer based at Severnside. This is a 5 on and 2 off shift pattern. You will be working for one of the UK’s largest transport groups. During busy periods, such as Christmas and summer holidays, you may be required to work as a Class 1 driver, so a Class 1 license is essential.

  • Sunday to Thursday (5 on, 2 off), 09:00 – 17:00, with flexibility and overtime available

Pay Rates

  • Monday to Friday – overtime after 47.5 hours (£17.85/hr)
  • Night overtime (1800 – 0400) – £20.39/hr
  • Weekly uplift of £20

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Full and current C+E driving license for at least 3 years
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of Drivers Hours and Tachograph Legislation
  • Knowledge of RTWTD Legislation
  • Willingness to deliver Driver CPC training
  • Proficiency in English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Polite, professional, and customer-focused
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Flexible hours to meet business needs
  • Willingness to undertake training to develop skills
  • Promote best practices within the business

Responsibilities

  • Conduct driving assessments for new and existing drivers
  • Deliver driver CPC training
  • Support on-route learning and familiarisation
  • Monitor Tachograph infringements and provide related training
  • Coach on safe driving, accident prevention, and fuel efficiency
  • Mentor trainees in various schemes
  • Perform general driving duties and deliveries if required
  • Full training, support, and career development provided
