A well-established and forward-thinking engineering company, operating at the forefront of marine and industrial manufacturing technologies, is seeking a skilled CNC Mill/Turn Setter to join its dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC turning machinery with a hands-on and safety-first approach
- Adjust Mazak controls
- Maintain a clean and organised working area in line with 5S principles
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Work to defined process times and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support cross-training activities and assist in developing team capability
- Flexibly support other machining disciplines when needed
Requirements
- Apprenticeship-trained or equivalent engineering background
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Mazatrol
- Proficient in modern cutting tools and machining practices
- Comfortable working with various materials including Inconel, aluminium bronze, cast iron, duplex, and stainless steel
- Familiar with both milling and turning techniques
- Experience handling composite materials is an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Working knowledge of CI/Lean practices (e.g., 5S, 7 Wastes)
- Strong communication skills at all business levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Education
- GCSE/O-Level or equivalent
- Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
