CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator – Nights Location: Wednesbury Salary: £16.00 per hour + 33% Shift Allowance (£41,496 per annum) Hours: 37.5 hours per week . Monday to Wednesday: 9:00pm – 6:30am . Thursday: 9:00pm – 6:00am (Permanent role – double day shift may be considered) About the Role We are seeking an experienced CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator to join a long-established engineering company in Wednesbury. Working with Citizen machines and Fanuc controls, you\’ll be responsible for producing high-quality components to precise tolerances, supporting industries such as automotive, rail, and motorway safety systems. Key Responsibilities . Set and operate CNC Sliding Head lathes (Citizen). . Work with Fanuc controls to produce components to specification. . Machine batches of 10,000+ parts across materials including stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium. . Achieve tolerances between 0.1mm and 0.6mm, including surface grinding. . Carry out first-off inspections and maintain quality standards throughout production. . Monitor tooling and machine performance to ensure efficiency. . Support continuous improvement and maintain a safe working environment. Skills & Experience Required . Previous experience as a CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator. . Skilled with Fanuc controls. . Experience with multi-axis turning will be considered. . Ability to work to tight tolerances in batch production. . Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings. . Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Benefits . Competitive salary + shift allowance (£41,496 per annum). .
