Shift Pattern and Compensation:

  • Double day shift (alternating early and late weekly), 37‑hour workweek.

Shift Schedules:

  • Early Shift: Mon - Thu: 06:00 – 14:15; Fri: 06:00 – 12:00
  • Late Shift: Mon - Thu: 14:15 – 22:30; Fri: 12:00 – 18:00

Salary:

  • Basic Salary: £33,545 per annum
  • Shift Allowance (33%): £11,069.85
  • Total Salary: £44,614.85 per annum (including shift allowance)

About the Company:

What You'll Do:

  • Set, program, and operate CNC milling or turning machines to produce high‑precision components.
  • Work in a low‑volume production environment, manufacturing parts based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Manufacture or modify tooling, including jigs, fixtures, and moulds.
  • Use precision measuring equipment (micrometres, Vernier callipers) to ensure part accuracy.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet production targets and timelines.
  • Log work times and maintain compliance using the Epicor ERP system.
  • Actively participate in lean initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of the workshop.
  • Ensure the highest levels of safety by following all health and safety procedures.

What We're Looking for:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC Machine Operator within engineering.
  • Strong understanding of ISO engineering drawings and ability to machine to tight tolerances.
  • Competent with measuring tools such as micrometres and Vernier callipers.
  • Basic IT skills, with experience using ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Knowledge and practical application of 5S principles.

Desirable:

  • Time‑served craft apprenticeship.
  • Experience with programming, setting, and operating CNC Vertical Mills (Winmax 5, Fanuc controls) or CNC Lathes (Mazatrol, Siemens control).
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and process improvement.
