HGV Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician

Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Technician looking for a great opportunity with a well-established and growing business?
We’re looking for a skilled, reliable and motivated technician to join our maintenance team in Evesham.
You’ll play a vital role in keeping our HGV fleet and trailers safe, roadworthy, compliant and operating at its best.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure they meet all legal and DVSA requirements.
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs when required.
- Keep accurate service, inspection and repair records.
- Work safely and professionally in line with company procedures.
- Work closely with drivers, transport managers and the wider workshop team.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
- A relevant Level 2/3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Good knowledge of DVSA standards and vehicle compliance.
- The ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
- A full UK driving licence. HGV licence desirable but not essential.
- Good communication, organisation and attention to detail.
- Experience working across a range of commercial vehicle manufacturers.
- HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
- IRTEC accreditation.
- Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Up to £50,830 salary, depending on experience.
