Pay: £18.00 per hour (negotiable for highly skilled candidates – up to £19.50 per hour)

Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 2:00pm
Regular overtime available – paid at 1.5x hourly rate

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer/Setter to join a well-established precision engineering firm based in Birkenhead. If you have strong experience with Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls, and are confident using CAD/CAM software such as OneCNC and SolidWorks, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (Hurco & Fanuc)
- Creating and improving CNC programs both on-machine and offline
- Machining one-off, high-precision components unaided from a drawing
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to produce high-quality components
- Carrying out routine machine maintenance
- Ensuring all work meets internal quality standards
- Liaising with colleagues and the production team to meet deadlines and resolve issues efficiently
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CNC Miller Programmer
- Strong programming skills, ideally using Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls
- Competent with CAD/CAM software, particularly OneCNC and SolidWorks
- Solid mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Higher Education or equivalent preferred
- Relevant technical training and/or a time-served apprenticeship in engineering or machining
