Job Title: Assistant Block Manager
Location: Barnt Green
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

We are seeking a proactive and organised Assistant Block Manager to join our client\’s Block Management Department in Barnt Green. Supporting the Block Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the management of 25 developments comprising approximately 500 flats and houses. This role is varied and combines office-based responsibilities with site visits to ensure developments are well-maintained and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess general condition and oversee ongoing works.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure repairs, maintenance, and services are completed to a high standard.
  • Assist with the preparation, issue, and administration of service charge demands.
  • Handle incoming calls and correspondence from lessees and owners, providing professional and timely support.
  • Support the Block Manager in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and reports relating to the management of developments.
  • General office administration and ad hoc tasks as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in property management, facilities management, or a similar role (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence in managing a varied workload, both in the office and on-site.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous due to the requirement to visit developments.
