Position Overview: We’re on the lookout for a Product Development Engineer to join a busy and growing design team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in CAD, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and a genuine interest in turning ideas into real-world products.
Daily Duties Will Include:
- Designing and developing high-quality, precision components using AutoDesk Inventor (or similar CAD software).
- Producing 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation.
- Working closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Supporting the full product lifecycle – from concept and prototyping through to final production.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Strong proficiency in CAD software – AutoDesk Inventor preferred.
- Good understanding of metalworking and machining techniques.
- High attention to detail and solid problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Desirable:
- Experience using AutoDesk Vault.
- Previous work in the door or cabinet hardware sector.
- Hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience creating technical specifications and BOMs for production.
