Our client is a well-established and growing building services contractor specialising in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, integrated building controls, decarbonisation projects, fit-outs, and refurbishments across commercial and mixed-use environments. Known for technical expertise and quality delivery, they work on complex, fast-paced projects throughout London and the South East.
The Role
We are seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor with around 3 years post-qualification experience to join the commercial team based from the Farringdon office. The successful candidate will support the commercial management of MEP packages from pre-contract through to final account, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients.
This role offers strong exposure to technically challenging projects and clear progression opportunities within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of MEP packages including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical works
- Preparing cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Valuing works, assessing variations, and preparing interim applications for payment
- Assisting with contract administration and change control
- Supporting the negotiation and agreement of final accounts
- Working closely with project teams to ensure commercial and programme objectives are met
- Monitoring project costs, risks, and opportunities
- Attending site meetings and liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Candidate Requirements
- Approximately 3 years PQE as an MEP or Building Services Quantity Surveyor
- Experience working on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical packages
- Exposure to fit-out, refurbishment, and/or decarbonisation projects preferred
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills
- Good understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively within project teams
- Organised, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple projects
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Building Services
- Progress toward or interest in RICS or CIOB accreditation desirable but not essential
