We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a financial savings company based in Coulsdon, who are looking to appoint an experienced Deputy Finance Manager to support the Finance Manager in overseeing the day-to-day finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional with strong technical knowledge and leadership capability, looking to take the next step in their career within a regulated financial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Finance Manager with the daily management of the finance department
- Overseeing transactional finance processes, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Assisting with month-end and year-end accounts preparation
- Producing management accounts and financial reports
- Monitoring cash flow and assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Ensuring compliance with financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Supervising and supporting junior members of the finance team
- Acting as a key point of contact in the Finance Manager’s absence
- Using and maintaining the Sage accounting system
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a senior finance role (e.g. Senior Finance Assistant, Assistant Finance Manager, Deputy Finance Manager)
- Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software
- Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end close
- Solid understanding of financial controls and reporting
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across departments
Desirable:
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (AAT / ACCA / CIMA)
- Experience within financial services, savings, or a regulated environment
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
