About the Role

Our client operates a large industrial sawmill and is looking to strengthen their maintenance team with Maintenance & Electrical Fitters. The client is particularly interested in candidates from heavy industry sectors or large-scale manufacturing, where they will have experience maintaining large-scale industrial machinery and conveyor systems. The mill is an extremely fast-paced production environment with a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment. The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently while keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting a wide range of industrial equipment across the site. The role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, and reactive repairs on production machinery and site equipment. Working as part of the maintenance team, you will help ensure the smooth operation of the mill by diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and supporting ongoing improvements to equipment reliability and performance. This is a hands-on role within a busy industrial environment, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in heavy industry or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience maintaining industrial machinery and conveyor systems
  • Background in mechanical or electrical maintenance
  • Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery, motors, or automated equipment
