30 hours per week | Typically 9:00am - 3:00pm (flexible) | Office-based in Bolton

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day running of a busy finance function. This is a varied role reporting directly to the Finance Director, with no direct reports. The role is designed as a 30-hour position (typically 9am - 3pm) and would suit someone looking for school-friendly hours within a growing, ambitious business.

Your responsibilities:

  • Raising and issuing sales invoices
  • Setting up new customers (credit checks, system setup, insurer portals)
  • Credit control and debtor management
  • Processing purchase invoices and assisting with payment runs
  • Daily bank reconciliations, cashflow monitoring and credit card reconciliations
  • Supporting monthly management accounts (invoice recs, GL recs, reporting)
  • Recruiter performance reporting and bonus calculations
  • Payroll and timesheet processing for temporary workers
  • Liaising with umbrella payroll providers
  • Monitoring hours worked, holiday accrual and overtime trackers
  • Supporting onboarding administration and weekly reporting

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant role
  • Strong sales and purchase ledger knowledge
  • Confident with reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Payroll awareness, ideally with temp timesheets
  • Good Excel skills and experience with accounting software
  • Organised, accurate and able to manage deadlines independently

Package:

  • Salary: Circa £35k pro rata, negotiable dependent on experience
  • 34 days holidays
