About the Role
We are partnering with a specialist manufacturing company in Redditch to find a Precision Rolling & Slitting Operator to join their production team. This is a hands‑on, technical role perfect for candidates who take pride in working with precision metal products. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate rolling mills and bonding machines to precise tolerances
- Operate slitting/shearing machines to produce accurate metal strips
- Measure and calculate lengths and quantities using Excel and mental arithmetic
- Support wider production activities across the factory
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Follow all health & safety procedures rigorously
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Calm, patient, and detail‑oriented mindset
- Strong mechanical awareness (assessed during interview)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience is a bonus
- Willingness to learn multiple machines and processes
- Commitment to a long‑term role (training lasts 6–12 months)
Desirable
- Previous experience in metal manufacturing, rolling, or slitting
- Forklift license or full, clean driving license
- Previous apprenticeship or formal mechanical qualification
