A construction company based in Spalding is looking to recruit a Graduate or Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in quantity surveying. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, allowing you to develop practical commercial experience while working alongside experienced construction professionals.

The Role

  • Assisting with the preparation of estimates and quotations
  • Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor prices
  • Supporting the preparation of tender documents
  • Assisting with project cost monitoring and reporting
  • Helping to prepare valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information
  • Attending project and site meetings when required
  • Maintaining accurate commercial and project records
  • Working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers

The Candidate

This position would suit a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their construction career. Applicants should ideally have:

  • A degree, HNC, HND or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject
  • A genuine interest in developing a career in quantity surveying
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office software

Previous construction experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
