We are recruiting for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing shopfitting and interior fit-out contractor based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveying graduate looking to begin their career within a busy commercial environment, working on a variety of shopfitting, retail and interior refurbishment projects. You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, receiving full training and support while developing your commercial knowledge and gaining hands-on experience across live projects.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of quotations, estimates and tenders
  • Measuring works and preparing bills of quantities
  • Obtaining and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Assisting with procurement of subcontract packages
  • Monitoring project costs and budgets
  • Preparing valuations and applications for payment
  • Assisting with variations and final accounts
  • Attending project and commercial meetings
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
  • Supporting the commercial team throughout the full project lifecycle

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
  • A genuine interest in developing a career as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous construction or commercial experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Package

Salary: £28,000 per annum. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist shopfitting contractor where you can gain broad commercial experience, work on varied projects and develop into a fully experienced Quantity Surveyor.
