Senior Quantity Surveyor needed to join a well-established demolition and remediation contractor delivering complex, high-value projects across the UK. This hybrid role requires site attendance in Snowdonia two days per week, presence at the Birmingham office two days per week, and one day working from home. Due to the travel requirements, the ideal candidate will be based in or around Shrewsbury, providing a practical central location between both sites.

The Role

You will take full commercial responsibility for demolition and remediation projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring strong cost control, contractual compliance, and overall commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full commercial management of demolition and remediation projects
  • Cost planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting
  • Subcontract procurement and commercial management
  • Managing NEC contracts (ideally Option C target cost arrangements)
  • Administration of early warnings and compensation events
  • Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Risk management and value engineering
  • Liaising with clients, site teams, environmental specialists, and senior leadership
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed commercial frameworks

Requirements

  • 6–8 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience within demolition, remediation, civil engineering, or heavy industrial sectors preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C highly desirable)
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent reporting and forecasting capability
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Ideally based near Shrewsbury due to travel requirements
