Our client is a rapidly expanding and successful subcontractor looking to recruit an ambitious
Accounts / Finance Assistant
to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their finance career within a fast-paced and entrepreneurial business. The company is growing quickly and is keen to appoint someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and willing to learn. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day finance function and work closely with the wider team, gaining valuable exposure across a broad range of accounting and administrative duties. Previous experience within construction or property would be beneficial, although it is not essential. Knowledge of
Xero
and experience using
Mac systems
would also be advantageous. More importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong attention to detail and a genuine desire to learn quickly, take on responsibility and grow with the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the day-to-day running of the finance and accounts function.
Processing purchase and sales invoices.
Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Reconciling supplier statements and bank transactions.
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
Assisting with payment runs and supplier queries.
Supporting credit control and chasing outstanding payments where required.
Processing expenses and other routine finance transactions.
Assisting with month-end preparation and general reporting.
Updating accounting systems accurately and in a timely manner.
Liaising with suppliers, clients and internal teams regarding finance-related queries.
Providing general administrative support to the finance team.
Taking on additional responsibilities as the role develops.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator or similar role.
Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail.
Confident using Microsoft Office and general accounting systems.
Knowledge of
Xero
would be beneficial.
Experience using
Mac
would be advantageous.
Previous experience within construction, property or a subcontracting environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
Proactive, reliable and willing to take ownership of tasks.
Comfortable working in a busy and growing business.
Keen to learn, develop and progress quickly.
Strong communication skills and a positive, professional approach.
WHAT'S ON OFFER
Salary of approximately
£28,000–£30,000 per annum .
Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
Permanent, office-based position in
