Our client, a rapidly expanding construction company based in Barnet, is looking for a Finance / Accounts Assistant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual to join a successful business in a friendly, supportive and fast-paced working environment.
The successful candidate will support the finance function across a range of accounting and administrative duties. Previous experience within accounts or finance is essential, and knowledge of Xero software would be highly advantageous, although not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the day-to-day finance and accounts function
- Processing purchase invoices and assisting with Accounts Payable
- Raising sales invoices and assisting with Accounts Receivable
- Credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Assisting with payroll administration
- Reconciling supplier statements and bank transactions
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting the wider office and finance team with administrative duties
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and clients when required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in an accounts, finance or bookkeeping role
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, credit control and payroll
- Experience using Xero software would be beneficial, but is not essential
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confident communication skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Good IT skills, with any knowledge of Mac systems being advantageous
- Experience within the construction industry would be beneficial, but is not essential
