Accountant / Senior Accounts Professional Location: Bromley Salary: £38,000–£42,000 DOE Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 Job Type: Full-time, office-based

We are recruiting for a hands-on Accountant / Senior Accounts Professional to join a fast-paced SME/project-led environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who is confident working independently, taking ownership of day-to-day accounting duties, and supporting wider business operations with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be commercially aware, proactive, highly organised, and comfortable liaising with internal teams, external clients, suppliers, HMRC, and accountants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll processing, including PAYE and NEST
  • VAT returns
  • HMRC liaison
  • CIS administration
  • Year-end accounts support
  • Audit preparation and liaison with external accountants
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Management accounts support
  • Multi-currency transactions
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Credit control
  • Raising purchase orders, quotations, and invoices
  • Supplier and client onboarding
  • Finance compliance administration
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in an Accountant, Senior Accounts, Accounts Manager, or similar finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Experience with payroll, VAT, CIS, reconciliations, and year-end support
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders
