Our client, a busy factory based in the CH66 area, is currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Assembly Operative / Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a full-time basis. The role involves building and assembly, so candidates must be comfortable with practical, hands-on work and some lifting. Full training will be provided, so formal qualifications are not essential. However, previous experience as a mechanical fitter, assembly operative, production operative, or in a similar hands-on role would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and assembling in a factory environment
  • Using hand tools and basic equipment safely and correctly
  • Following instructions, drawings or production processes where required
  • Carrying out manual handling and some lifting as part of the role
  • Working to deadlines and production targets
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
  • Supporting the wider production team when required

Candidate Requirements

  • Confident working with tools
  • Able to demonstrate good practical skills
  • Mechanically minded or have a basic mechanical understanding
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Flexible and willing to support different tasks
  • Positive in attitude and able to work well as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy factory environment
  • Comfortable with some lifting and manual work

Experience

  • Previous experience in any of the following would be desirable:
  • Mechanical fitting
  • Assembly work
  • Production or manufacturing
  • Factory work
  • Practical hands-on work involving tools

Qualifications are not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working Hours

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, with overtime available.
