As our Wet Worker you will be responsible for undertaking general heating, and hot and cold water system servicing, repairs, and installation work within occupied properties. You must maintain a high standard of work that supports performance, quality, and customer satisfaction within a Right First Time culture. The role includes ensuring that all work is carried out safely, in line with industry and manufacturer standards, in accordance with our clients' contract specifications, and with minimum inconvenience to residents.
You will install, maintain, and repair pipes, fixtures, and controls associated with hot and cold water distribution systems and heating systems within domestic and non-domestic properties across the clients' contracts. Work types include, but are not limited to:
- Isolating and capping radiators/valves when leaking.
- Replacing/installing radiators and ancillary pipework as required.
- Replacing/installing 2- and 3-port control valves and wiring the controls accordingly.
- Replacing/installing immersion heaters and wiring them to the local electrical fused spur.
- Replacing/installing cylinders, thermal stores, tanks, and ancillary equipment.
- Replacing/installing control fixtures, pipework, and controls.
- Repairs to hot and cold water systems.
- Upgrading hot and cold water systems, pipework, controls, and ancillary equipment.
- Replacing/checking expansion vessels.
- Undertaking repairs to underfloor heating manifolds, controls, and components.
- Repairs and fault diagnosis of Heat Interface Units (HIUs).
- Providing assistance to other departments within the Gas Division, when required.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer instructions, industry best practice, codes of practice, and legislation. Work should be completed with minimal disruption to clients and residents. Attend appointments as scheduled and instructed. Use and update IT devices, apps, or similar systems. Ensure your PDA is always operational to support accurate and efficient workload delivery and data transfer via ACIMS. Apply correct diagnostic skills to all work. Where parts are required, ensure they are correctly ordered, fitted, and recorded. Return any unused parts and record accordingly. Complete a job sheet for every task, accurately and in the agreed format, including any quoted remedial works.
Wet Workers are required to provide their own hand tools appropriate for the job, including (but not limited to) a battery drill and tools for pipework such as a blow torch. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Wear the supplied personal protective equipment and take responsibility for your own safety and that of others. Follow safe working practices at all times. Work in partnership with clients to exceed operational and company expectations. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm.
The Candidate
To be considered for our Wet Worker role, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant qualifications for the job role, including Building Regulation-approved G3 Hot Water Unvented Certificate.
- Gas ACS qualification is an advantage but not essential.
- NVQ in Plumbing or equivalent.
- Experience in diagnosing and fault finding to carry out effective repairs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to delivering customer-focused service with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Ability to manage a range of situations and respond to customer needs.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal office hours.
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.

Experience working in both domestic and non-domestic environments. Proven high standards of customer service and commitment to ongoing personal development.
