The WEA is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education, a charity dedicated to bringing high quality, professional education into the heart of communities. We are looking for talented individuals to help us deliver our mission – to bring education within reach. We are looking to recruit staff to join our sessional pool. The number of working hours per day and/or term will depend on the requirements of the business. This is not a full time, permanent role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to teaching.
  • Adapt to a range of learning styles, and differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding.
  • Ensure you provide the highest possible quality teaching and learning to a group of learners.
Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent), level 5 specialism (IQA and Assessor qualifications would be advantageous).
  • Experience of design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Experience in a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools.
  • Thorough understanding of RARPA, EIF and the quality processes that underpin delivery.
  • Experience of working with adults in hard-to-reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education.
  • Strong working knowledge of OFSTED’s Education Inspection Framework.
  • A strong team work ethic; willingness to collaborate and support others.
  • A passion for adult education and making a difference.
