As a Sessional Tutor, you will provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to teaching. Adapting to a range of learning styles and differentiating delivery to learners with mixed abilities, you will develop learners' knowledge and understanding while ensuring the highest possible quality teaching and learning to a group of learners.

  • Functional Skills Tutor (Maths and/or English)
  • £29.78 per hour
  • Based in Durham with travel to various venues in your area

Qualifications & Experience

  • Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent)
  • Level 5 specialism (advantageous if you have IQA and Assessor qualifications)
  • Experience of design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans
  • Experience in a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools
  • A thorough understanding of RARPA as well as the EIF and the quality processes that underpin your delivery
  • Experience of working with adults in hard-to-reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education
  • Strong working knowledge of OFSTED’s Education Inspection Framework
  • A strong teamwork ethic and a passion for adult education and making a difference
