ESOL Tutor role based in Newcastle and Durham with travel to various venues in the area. Salary £30,000 - £34,443 (plus teachers' pension and agile working opportunities). Responsibilities
- Develop learners' knowledge and understanding by undertaking effective initial assessments and diagnostic activities and preparing course materials.
- Ensure a wide range of formative and summative assessment practices that motivate and stretch learners to reach their objectives.
- Provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach, adapting to a range of learning styles and differentiating delivery for learners with mixed abilities.
- Deliver high-quality ESOL teaching and learning to a group of learners.
- Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment consistent with our aim to reflect the communities we serve.
Qualifications
- Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent), level 5 specialism (IQA and Assessor qualifications would be advantageous).
- Experience in the design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Experience in a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools.
- A thorough understanding of RARPA as well as the EIF and the quality processes that underpin delivery.
- Experience of working with adults in hard-to-reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education.
- Strong working knowledge of OFSTED’s Education Inspection Framework.
- A strong team work ethic and a collaborative approach.
- A passion for adult education and making a difference.
